Green Innovation in Cities

By 2008, more than half of the world’s population lives in cities and by 2030, United Nations Population Fund (UNPF) projects that more than 5 billion people live in urban settings. The challenge for the next few decades is learning how to exploit the possibilities urbanization offers. Therefore it is important that cities become sustainable and provide superb living conditions for its inhabitants. Changing the cities in a more sustainable direction is not an easy task, among other things, because it is costly to change existing structures. On the other hand, if you generate a good idea or have gained experiences that are relevant to metropolises around the globe, the potential is big.

The EEP Green Innovation in Cities is an educational initiative aimed at increasing the innovation and entrepreneurship content of teaching activities. The Green Innovation in Cities EEP consists of three courses: Urban Greening, Urban Flows and Green Energy and a summer school in Cleantech. All three courses and the summer school are offered as electives to master students at CBS, UCHP and DTU, and all three courses are taught by teachers from CBS, UCPH and DTU. The summer school is offered by CSE at CBS and also includes all three partnering universities.
